Spread some Christmas cheer with these yummy chocolate mint crinkles. This recipe is a top notch classic from the one and only..Betty Crocker. There are few things better than peppermint and chocolate together!

  • 2 cups flour

  • 1 cup unsweetened baking cocoa

  • 2 teaspoons baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 2 cups sugar

  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil

  • 4 eggs

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

  • peppermint hershey kisses

In a medium sized bowl combine the flour, baking cocoa, baking powder and salt. Mix together and set aside. In a larger bowl combine the sugar, vegetable oil and eggs. Whisk together until combined. Add in the vanilla and peppermint extract. Stir all together, and cover the bowl with plastic wrap. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for 2 hours. Heat oven to 350 roll tablespoon sized balls of dough into powdered sugar and place them onto a cookie sheet. The original recipe says bake 10-12 minutes. I baked mine for 8 because I like a softer cookie. Remove from the oven and add a hershey kiss to the top of each cookie. Allow cookies to set and cool more throughly on the pan. Enjoy!
